Seems his strategy has backfired on him. In the state elections in Tabasco – his home state – it seems PRI won, even though AMLO spent 20 days helping the PRD candidate for governor. This sends a clear signal – people are tired of PRD. Around the presidential elections in July, PRD had 56% of the vote in Tabasco. Now it seems they fell to around 42%.
Before the state elections, AMLO said these would serve as a kind of “referendum” for his social / political movement, meaning that if PRD won, his movement would gain power. Seems they didn’t win. So one can only hope he lays his stupid “movement” to rest. Someone said AMLO is just like an elephant: he goes home to die.
