The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree

Youssef Boutros Ghali was sentenced to 30 years in prision in absentia (he is being searched for by Interpol). Youssef was Egypt’s finance minister between 2004 and 2011. He was charged with using his position to enrich himself, amongst other things. People recognizing the name might remember that his uncle, Boutros Boutros Ghali was Secretary General of the UN before Kofi Annan. He was not the whitest sheep of the family either. As Vice Prime Minister of Egypt, he sold boatloads of weapons to Rwanda (that were stockpiled before the famous genocide), and was UN Chief during that same genocide. He was subsequently criticized for not doing much during the genocide that left over 1 million people dead. Of course he didn’t, he was making money off the dead!!!
